Remember when I accidentally took a sewing hiatus for two months?! Well, I also accidentally left my sewing machine uncovered. (Since, you know, I kept telling myself that I'd sneak in "just five minutes" of sewing that day.) That was a big mistake. It resulted in my spending the first night of my "sewing time" getting my machine functioning again.
I immediately put aside all of my in-progress projects, and grabbed the pattern for Rainbow Hare's "Vintage Caravan Sewing Machine Cover" from etsy. I had been eyeing it for ages, and had it on every sewing related pinterest board I have.. so it was a no-brainer. I pulled fabrics that same night and then proceeded to spend a little time every night working on it. It probably took two weeks of "stolen" time to get it all done... but I had little time, and I'm a slow sewer.
But it was so worth it. I. AM. SMITTEN.
I stayed pretty true to the pattern, but I used stabilizer I had from my bag making days instead of the suggested wadding. It resulted in a thinner, yet still sturdy cover. I also deviated from the pattern on a couple of decorative elements... for no other reason than to make it my own. :)
I'm kind of a little sad that I only have one sewing machine. How cute would a whole row of these be in my office?! (Answer: Very cute.)
Now, without further babble from me...
