Macro Monday

Last month, I treated myself to a macro class. It was a total splurge. And, worth every. single. penny. I may have just found my new true love. Seriously. I don't think I can describe how I feel when I'm shooting, and then editing, macro photos. I'm 100% at peace with my world, and oh-so-happy. Don't get me wrong, I'll still be my kiddos' worst mamarazzi nightmare at times... but I find myself thinking about macro opportunities way more these days. This class came at the perfect time for me. A time when I was emotionally beat-up from the summer. A time when my body had just been through the wringer. I had just sent my oldest off to "Real school. Like, Kindergarten." A time when I needed to give myself a little time to slow down, see the world, and be kind to myself. The fact that I got images that I love, and found a new passion... well, that's just icing on the cake.

The following are from my class assignments... In the following weeks, I may just have to share some more. I might not be able to control myself. But for now... a visual recap on my class.

Week One : One object, two angles.

Week One : Texture

Week Two : Flowers

Week Three : Stacked Focus & Selective Focus

Week Four : Composition & Processing

{This last one is my favorite. I'm currently pricing out the cost of making it a huge print.}
