An Award!

Three rules apply to this award: 1. Thank the person(s) who gave this award to you. 2. List 7 things that people may not know about you. 3. Pass it on to 15 other bloggers.

Whenever I receive an award, I always feel like yelling, "You like me, you really like me!" Is that silly, or just insecure? I was lucky enough to be nominated for this award by M over at Mission Fertile Soul. Thanks M! While not a requirement of the award, I'd like to say that I knew I would like M when she de-lurked on my blog to offer condolences for Roxy. I knew I was right when I went to her blog and read about her first, fur babies.

So, here are seven things you might not know about me...

1. I do not like talking on the phone. I used to love talking on the phone... but now, now I come just short of despising it. I'm not sure if it's because we are a cell-phone-only household and I can no longer multi-task while talking, or if it has to do with the silent bell that rings alerting Spencer of what I'm doing so that he acts his most despicable.... but whatever it is, I dread phone calls these days. Which is a shame since most of them leave me feeling awesome and happy afterwards. (Needless to say, I'm a big fan of the text message.)

2. Along the same lines, I'm chatty, a rambler, and a hand talker... but only in person and one-on-one. I don't do well in big groups. And by big, I mean more than four people. Even if I know them all well. Hmmm... you may already know I'm a rambler since I've done that from time to time on here...

3. I fear I'm not living up to my full potential. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, which is a big part of it. I wish that I either used my degree more, or didn't feel like I'm letting down so many people by not using it. (Myself included) I also wish I had more time to execute the notebooks full of doodles and ideas that I have floating around. (Yes, I realize that is a ridiculous thing to say as we embark on the journey towards child #2)

{At this point, I realize this is a very depressing list...}

4. At one point in my life my closet consisted only of beige, brown, gray, and black (and dark wash jeans). It was during my advertising days, which kind of explains it... but considering the rainbow that is my closet now, it still surprises me. (I am currently wearing a lime green shirt with a hot pink tank under, red "sweats," and bright orange socks. Ohmygod, I've turned into Rainbow Bright.

5. I totally wish I had the skills to be a hip hop dancer. You either got it or you don't... and I definitely don't. If there is any doubt, just watch me try to do a work out video along those lines.

6. I still play with Legos. I even have my own sets that Spencer is absolutely not allowed to play with (yet). And no, I don't kid myself that they are "eventually for him"... they are mine, all mine! I'm sure I should be embarrassed by this, but I'm not. One of the most relaxing nights I can have is legos + chick flicks + glass of wine. Am I a party animal or what?!

7. Some people are "hoarders," but I am a "stasher." I can't handle clutter out and about, so I stash things in drawers and cabinets. If I'm completely honest, I'm also a "piler" and most everything is piled, then stashed. Most of the time there is a method to my madness, and I know where everything is, but occasionally I'm surprised by an overdue bill in the "fancy utensil" drawer or something crazy like that. I've also found, ahem, gifts that I thought I sent stashed away. Oops. My stashing definitely got worse when the house was on the market, but it's always been there.

See, now you all know {hopefully} a few new things about me!

Now to pass the award on, here are some bloggers whom I love:

Lori @ Lori Barbely Photography

Jen @ The Kingston Road Project

Sandra @ Three Continents - One Family

Jaclyn @ From Korea, With Love

Dana @ Plum Tree Studio

Kimberly @ Robotic Whimsy

Krista @ When You Wish Upon a Star

Melissa @ Life as a Lewis

Kelly @ Uninterrupted Prosperity

Joanna @ Little Bit O' Seoul

OK, I only picked 10... It's hard!

{It should be noted, although it probably goes without saying, that it was *hard* to narrow this list down... AND that I tried to stick with non-password-protected blogs. I also tried not to nominate too many people from one "group" since I know it makes it hard to pass the award on if you choose!}
