Last weekend, we attended "Touch-A-Truck." When Spencer heard where we were going, he was excited to say the least:
We told him about the different vehicles that would be there, and it was safe to say that the cement mixer ranked number one as the "truck to see" when we were there:
First, there was a moment of reverence at the entrance to the cab.
And then there was pure blissdom as he got to hang out in the cab...
See? Pure. Bliss.
We also visited the dairy truck that was painted like a cow:
"It's cold in there Daddy, let's find a different truck to check out!"
"But first, we should sample this chocolate milk. It would be rude not to."
Next up?! Diggers!
"Let's get this thing started here!"
Next up... the bucket truck.
"Enough with the pictures Mama, we have business to take care of!"
"These are all I need to touch live wires?! Huh. Good to know."
Then, Spencer got a sneak peek at his future:
"Daddy, I'm going to have one of these when I'm famous... OK?!"
"Gotta go... my fans are waiting!"
As if Spencer wasn't all ready in heaven, he spied something he never expected to see at a Touch-A-Truck event...
"Dude, I look goooood in a hockey helmet!"
"Now, let's play!"
"OK... line it up..."
And, just when it couldn't get any better...
"Samboni shows up. Oh. My. Word. I don't even know what to do with myself!"
OK, hockey interlude over. Back to the trucks!
"It's Vacuum Vick!"
"Hmm... what's this do?!"
[Answer: Make a very loud noise which makes Spencers whole body jump. Every. Single. Time.]
"OK... just one more!"
Here's where Spencer makes his CSI-loving Mama proud:
"This truck is awe.some."
"Mama took this freaky picture. Weird, huh?!"
"It even has a 'walkie-walkie!' I am never. getting. out."
[It's true... we had to drag him from this truck.]
He protested leaving the super cool CSI truck, until he saw this of course:
"Wow, this is so much cooler than the hose at home..."
"This day ROCKS."
"I give it a thumbs up for sure!"
We had a brief interlude to watch the RI Blood Bank mascot:
[Yeah, cause a walking blood drop isn't creepy or anything...]
Next, it was off to the choo choo:
Or should I say "chooo chooo"?!
"Let's get this show on the road!"
"Mama! We're on the choo choo!"
"Mama, did you see us?! That was so much fun!"
We took a look at the police Hummer:
"I'm putting this on my birthday wish list, OK?"
Last up, was the mail truck:
"This one requires extra concentration. Tongue, out."
"I look good in a mail truck, don't I?!"
"Oh, mail truck... I love you."
And since we had to pass by to leave:
"What do you mean we REALLY have to go now?!"
And there you go. Spencer's day at Touch-a-Truck.
