As part of my "school is cool" campaign, I've been lining up fun things for our after-school activities so that Spencer has something to look forward to. (More on school in another post) Yesterday it was a trip to a new playground. I intentionally left the real camera in the car, but got some cute footage on my i*phone. Now, you may remember this post where I talk about Spencer conquering the big slide... well, yesterday, he outdid himself. He conquered the really big twisty slide (we're talking I couldn't touch the bottom of it) Not only that, but he did it style (please note that he is "cueing" me to say "where are you?!" at the beginning before he comes down by shouting "are you!" down the slide):
(Courtney, I can hear you laughing all the way over here - STOP!) I about had a heart attack the first time it happened, moments before this video was shot. In fact, I was videoing that one too, since he had been going down feet first (as we always instruct) and yelling "Surprise!" ... I thought that would be cute to get on film ... little did I know he had a real surprise in store for me! (And yes, I sent the first video to Doug with the question, "Did you teach him this?!") Let's just say years came off my life. Years. Yet, I've been waiting for this since I knew it was only a matter of time. Before I know it, he'll be hanging upside down from the monkey bars.
And while we're posting fun little videos of Spencer at the park... do you want to hear him say his name?! Here you go:
I may be biased, but I think that is pretty cute! I think he needs all that cuteness to counteract all the gray hairs he's giving me! No?
