The Sickies & The Slide

The Sickies: This past week, everyone pretty much came down with the "change of season bug." Without fail, when the weather does that rapid flip-flop at the beginning of fall, we get sick. This year was no exception. Unfortunately, it coincided with Doug's vacation week. Fortunately, it also coincided with some really rainy days with severe mugginess. I guess if it was going to happen, it's good that it happened when we would have been trapped inside regardless. Here's what our week consisted of:

SickDays2

{Trains..}

SickDays-7

{Trains...}

SickDays-2-3

{And more trains...}

SickDays-2-2

{Don't let this face fool you... he was definitely sick!}

SickDays-5

{"work"}

SickDays-3-2

{"work"}

SickDays-4-2

{And a few games for good measure.}

SickDays-3

{Playing with the some boxes...}

SickDays-4

{And pretending they were a "bench"}

SickDays

{Playing dress-up}

SickDays-2

{In Mama's shoes}

SickDays-3-3

{Lots of play-doh}

SickDays-2-4

{Lots and lots}

SickDays-6

{Of cleanup too. Sigh.}

And randomly:

SickDays-4-3

{The turkeys also got a little disoriented and ended up in our front yard... steps from our stoop.}

SickDays-5-2

{A whole gaggle of them!}

The slide:

A couple of days before the sickies arrived (and I stopped blogging)... Spencer conquered this BIG slide at the playground:

Do you think he liked it?! I'd say so:

And if that smile doesn't convince you, maybe these will:

It was funny, I don't know what inspired him to try it... I'm certain I didn't suggest it. But once he went down, he couldn't stop. He'd fly out the bottom, yell "again!" and run for the steps to climb back up. It was awesome to watch. And incredible how quick he was flying down it by the end. I'm afraid he'll be coming down this head-first before we know it.
