Tattle Tale & Other Tidbits

{Thanks for all the sweet words on my "So long, Summer" post. Still not sure what I'm doing as I move forward... but I really appreciate all of the support.} I have now been tattled on. By my two-year-old. I guess the downside of having a child with a vocabulary that would rival a pre-schooler is that they can convey "incidents" that happen to the person not around for them. As many of you know, Doug was away last week. The first night he was home, Spencer made sure to let him know there was a "wine mess glass broke splash mess vacuum mama bad you sad" situation while he was gone. Spencer used enough words and gestures that Doug was able to surmise that something bad went down with a glass of wine and a mess was created. Fabulous. Granted, I had planned to tell Doug the story myself, but the fact that Spencer a) remembered the incident from four nights prior and b) knew that it was a good scoop and c) got the idea across... well, it's terrifying. [For those of you wondering, I put my freshly poured glass of wine down on a non-existent shelf. I have no idea what I was thinking, or what distracted me, but the mess... oh, the mess!]

Spencer now asks for his picture to be taken. He will also decide the setting and the pose to be had. Sometimes, he stands against the couch. Others, he sits on the steps. Most time he says cheese, sometimes he does his "mad" face. Usually he's clothed, although there have been occasions of "tattooing with stickers" that he needs to record while clad only in a diaper. This evening, he did this:

... and then asked for his photo to be taken. Yes, I think I might be in trouble...

Spencer has his Halloween costume. It's 100% his choice... isn't he too young to be dictating his costume?! (Mind you, I had his costume all planned out before we accidentally passed this one in the store.) Don't be surprised if Spencer does two costumes this year.

Speaking of Wordless Wednesdays... I did not realize when posting the carousel photos that Spencer's first ride on one was labor day weekend last year. Funny what a difference a year makes!
