[Oh look... it's finally the last post of our NYC trip!]
Day Three of our trip to NYC really could be called "Spencer Does Central Park." We met up with everyone at their hotel in the late morning (for us, the rest of our group might disagree) and promptly jumped on the subway to head up to Central Park. It was a beautiful day, so I think we all enjoyed our time spent there. First, we hit up a playground to let Spencer run off some steam... I think that Doug had a good time too!
After that, we strolled through the Park, where I believe Spencer stopped at every performance artist we came across. See the proof below... and that's not even all of them! Meanwhile, the adults (sans Kelly and Craig) were busy checking into four*square at every opportunity trying to unlock some NYC-centric badges. But that's a story for another day.
So, as I was saying, Spencer was taking in the arts. It was actually quite adorable, and I think some of the artists were just as taken with him as he was with them.

Spencer also enjoyed strolling with Kelly and Jon for a little while. He quickly had them trained in the "1,2,3... whee!" game. (Max, you'll thank him for that some day.) He also let Kelly C. carry him for quite a while this day. I guess after two long, consecutive days together, he deemed her "A-OK" by the third day and opened up to her a little. And to this day, still asks for "KeeKee" when we are looking at blogs and FB together. I'm sure it has *nothing* to do with the cupcake she bought him on the first day! [wink] (He can also identify Kelly P. but not from her FB photo. Go figure!)
We enjoyed the perfect weather for a stroll in Central Park, and enjoyed just meandering and watching people.
After strolling through a good portion of the park, we exited and headed down Fifth Avenue. We stopped at Pop Burger for lunch, where the six adults got yummy sliders and fries (or rings) and Spencer got some HOT DAWGS! After refueling, we headed over to FAO Schwartz and let Spencer "window shop." I believe his favorite stop was the life-sized Elmo doll. After browsing for a little while, we continued down to Rockefeller Center where we got some much needed caffeine at the famous Dean and Deluca you always see on the Today show.
We then jumped back on the subway to go to the area around our hotel. The next stop was the playground down by our hotel, where Spencer got to show off his mad slide skills. (again.) We strolled around the rest of the park and then headed over to the pizza place we went to on our first night for dinner. (Our original plan was to head back to Momofuku, but Spencer made it clear that was *not* going to happen!)
[Let's just take a little rest...]
[...cause I'm so exhausted!]
After a yummy pizza dinner, everyone walked us back to our hotel where we said our goodbyes to the gang. (We were headed to NJ for Easter the next day) Although he was exhausted at this point, Spencer made sure to give everyone hugs before parting ways.
It was an amazing time, and I'm sorry that our time together was so short! It was a wonderful time with great friends, who I can't wait to meet up with again soon. (and I'm totally planning on using Spencer as my bribe to make that happen.)
If you don't already read their blogs, please check out Kelly P.'s post here (she has the one and only "group" photo!) and Kelly C.'s posts here, here, here, and here. (she's got some hysterical shots of spencer eating noodles and cupcakes...)
Next destination on our "blog buddies" grand tour... Chicago! Woot!
