Whew!

I feel like lately, I get to Sunday night and go "Wait, was that the weekend that just passed me by?!" Sigh. It was a good weekend here, just too quick for my liking. (I thought I would feel like I had more time if I wasn't so tired...)

Spencer went to his first ever birthday party (excluding his which I STILL need to post about!) and he had a blast. It was for one of his little buddies who was turning two. He enjoyed running all around, playing with the toys, "helping" open the presents...

Which brings me to yet another cute Spencer story: When his friend opened Spencer's gift, Spencer immediately ran over, took the present, took the gift bag, and started walking around the room trying to find someone to put the gift back in the bag. I had spent the last few days preparing him for the party. I made a big deal about how he was going to a party for his friend, and he got to pick the gift out, then we wrapped it together and I was telling him about how it was for his friend, and not for him so it has to stay in the bag. Honestly, I felt silly about how much I was "selling" this party and the gift wrapping... but to some extent I guess it sunk in! It was really cute.

Spencer also experienced his first Sour Patch Kid. He stumbled across it, threw it in his mouth, made a hysterical "ick" face, powered through and then ran off looking for the next thing to eat. His Aunt Kathleen would be so proud...

I definitely think we have a party animal in the making here... he spent the whole time mingling, playing, wooing the ladies. Oh boy. And then when we left Spencer kept trying to run back into the house... always a sign of a good time being had!

Today we went to the Ocean Explorium. While it was a little bit advanced for Spencer, he enjoyed looking in the tanks... especially the reef tank and the one filled with jellyfish! He also liked being able to touch the starfish and the mussels in the "hands on" tank. But what he most enjoyed was the "Discovery Center" water table. He also enjoyed "escaping" from the play area. Of course.

Then we came home and tried on our Halloween costume again...
