Play Time!

Before I get into the Spencer-related part of this post... *     *     *     *     *     *     *

A note to all of the APs [Adoptive Parents] out there (and APs to be!): My friend Elizabeth started an Adoptive Mom's Playgroup Blog a couple of months ago... It's a place where we can discuss all things related to the process and raising our adopted kids. It's password-protected so that we can openly and honestly share our feelings, so if you're interested in joining the conversation, shoot her an email with your info. You can find her email at the top of the blog page. I'll be posting there in the coming weeks as well... I'd love for you to join us!

Now, onto the Spencinator!

Thanks to a very generous gift from Spencer's [great] Aunt L and Uncle R, we were able to enroll Spencer in Gym*boree. We had our first class yesterday... and saying that it was a hit is an understatement of galactic proportions. Upon seeing the play area, he squealed with joy, ran in, and didn't stop go-go-going until we buckled him in his car seat at the end of the hour.

Just a few shots of his first class...

gym-climb

[We climbed... complete with "pouty" lip.]

gym-slide

[We slid.]

bubbles-pop

[We popped bubbles.]

bubbles-blur

[We chased bubbles.]

bubbles-reach

[We caught bubbles.]

[Spencer adored Bubble Time...]

hoop-shoot

[Much to Daddy's delight... Spencer also loved shooting hoops.]

hoop-dunk

[Especially when Daddy helped him dunk.]

hoop-hang

[Then he impressed all the ladies by grabbing the rim and hanging... completely unassisted!]

mirror-montage

[And mama's favorite moment was when he discovered the fun house mirror]

[He loved it, and his reflection, apparently!]

And while we are talking about all things "play" ... I've update this post about our playdate with a fellow AP and her Korean son with some photos. I've also added a post about a great playground find when we were in NJ. You can find that post here. (You can say I'm catching up on some backlog... so keep an eye out for these "flashbacks!")
