Oodles of Holiday Magic

It's been a productive, yet relaxing, weekend. With lots of holiday spirit (that I'm counting as magical moments). I'm actually going to backtrack to Friday when I got an early Christmas present. (No - not that!) My friend brought me over stacks of "g diapers." I can't even tell you how excited I am. I have about a dozen covers now, two dozen liners and a couple of packages of inserts. It really blew my mind when she pulled that out of the car. Actually, it blows my mind how generous everyone has been with baby supplies... Now, if only I knew what to do with all these pieces! (Thank goodness there are how-to videos on g diapers... I'm not kidding... I really don't know how these three things all work together and don't create a big mess.)

On Saturday Doug and I headed into Providence RI, specifically to go to the opening weekend of Craftland. What we didn't expect were the unexpected surprises such as:

- $2 parking right in downcity (it's usually $2-$4 per hour... not $2 unlimited).

- Carolers wandering through the streets.

- Charles Dickens walking around reading excerpts.

- Crazy [on the verge of scary] puppets. (I've been trying to find pics of these guys to no avail)

- Horse-drawn carriages...

- And Santa!

It really was a lovely, festive atmosphere. And we found some presents which made the trip all worthwhile. (We're trying to buy handmade this year) OK, if I were honest, Craftland was a little bit more crowded than I would have liked... but that's a good thing, no?! Unfortunately, I personally now have a wish list the length of my arm. Sigh... that *always* happens.

On the way home we stopped by the supermarket for a few supplies to make dinner tonight and rented some movies from Redbox. Am I the only one who hasn't been doing this for months?! $1 rentals?! New releases?! You can check availability and reserve movies from the comfort of your home (aka online)?! Where have I been?! Yes, I have Netflix, but I seem to be using that to catch up on all the TV shows I missed when they were on... not current movie releases. We rented two movies for $2. That's awesome! We paired them with pizza and wine and had the perfect Saturday night.

When I woke up this morning, I discovered it had snowed last night! Just a dusting, but as someone who owns a 100' long driveway, I like the snows that either don't accumulate or melt away. [wink] It never fails, the first time every season I wake up to fresh fallen snow, I feel as though I'm seven again. It continued to snow all day which added to the holiday spirit I feel these days. I worked on a couple of holiday presents/projects and did some laundry. The best part of the day was that Doug handled dinner... so when I came home from running errands it was all ready for me!

Other than that, I've been compiling my "Tour of Holiday Lights" (which may be much more extensive than I ever hoped... how have I not noticed this in years past?!) and eating myself out of house and home... apparently the stress eating as begun.

I just re-read this and realized how it's kind of all over the place. I was going to fix it and then I realized that *I'm* kind of all over the place these days - so it's a good reflection of that. Night all!
