I used to live for the holiday specials on TV. Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and A Charlie Brown Christmas are just a few of my [then-and-now] faves. I'm sure that part of the draw for me as a youngster was that I got to stay up late. Now, the attraction is that it brings back memories of those times. I still remember being in my "footie" pjs, squeezed into my dad's recliner next to my sister, holiday decorations twinkling in the corner, eyes glued to the screen. Tonight the holiday programming kicks into high gear on TV. ABC is showing Shrek the Halls followed by the classic animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Planning ahead? You can set your DVRs now as to not miss any holiday programs with this schedule here. If that's not enough for you, ABC Family has the "25 days of Christmas" with oodles of holiday programs!
So tonight, I'm getting into my comfy-cozy pjs early, and settling in to watch some holiday programs. I won't be squeezed into footie pjs, or a recliner with my sister... but the lights will be low and the decorations will be twinkling in the corner. I'll probably have a glass of red wine in hand as opposed to the cocoa of my younger days... but even with those changes, I hope to recapture some of the excitement that those programs used to bring in my earlier days!
What are your favorite holiday programs?! Is it children's programming? A movie? A particular TV show episode?
[and yes, I do realize that there is grammatical issues with this post, but I don't have time to address that today!]
