And the foreign film nominees are...

It's amazing how you pick up on things more often when you are "attuned" to them. Like when you are thinking about getting a new car... it's like you see that car all over the place all of the sudden. And it's not like they just multiplied, they've been there all along, but now that you have a vested interest in them, you notice them more readily. That's how it was last night when I was watching the Oscars. I don't think I have EVER paid any mind to the foreign film category before... Yet, last night, my ears pricked up when they said "Congratulations to the countries nominated" and then my whole head bobbed up when they read off the films from Russia and Kazakhstan (two countries we've done research on as potential adoption countries) While neither of those films won (Congratulations to"The Counterfeiters" from Austria) it was nice to hear an honor extended (because being nominated is definitely an honor!) to two countries we are currently fascinated by.
