Did you know that the circumference of the earth is just over 24,901 miles? This blog began as a way to document our journey to adopt our son from Korea. Now it records our journey through life as a family. Lao-Tzu once said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." We think our journey through life together may consist of several thousand miles... but even if it takes us halfway around the world and back again... we're excited to keep going... one step at a time. And here's where we'll share the story with you.
We (Christine-n-Doug) met & married in Boston. We adopted our first "baby" the day after returning from our honeymoon... a four-year-old greyhound (Roxy). Our happy family of 3 had a pretty awesome life... lots of adventures, trips, and even a move to a coastal town. In 2008, we started the process of adoption for our first child from South Korea. Spencer joined our family in April 2009. And we became a happy family of four. We've had an even more awesome life for the past three years. Now we're back in process, hoping to adopt another child from Korea. This journal is to keep our friends and family up-to-date... and, hopefully, one day to share with our children. Here we go... We hope you enjoy the journey with us!
We'd love to hear from you as well - email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With great sadness, we said goodbye to Roxy in August of 2011. She is missed dearly, but we know that she's happily romping away on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. If you want to know more about one of the greatest "greyts" there ever was, you can read our tribute post here.
